This was filmed on a Panasonic AG-DVX200 camera. We recorded audio on a boom microphone and lit the scenes as needed.

This project was assigned to us to teach us how to create a film using parallel storytelling. We were inspired to make a film that was centered around the news because me and another group member are in the Miami Television News.

We wrote the script out and created a shot list, but due to limited actor availability we had to organize shots from the film and strategically group them together in the filming schedule so that we could make filming as quick as possible. This film took a lot of setting up- we had to have my friend make us fake blood, we taped up black construction paper to make it look like it was night time (when in reality this was filmed during the day), and we had to take quite a bit of time to get the lighting right for the scene that the girl is killed. Overall, I am really proud of how this film came out.

The Crasher

This was filmed on a GH4 camera. We recorded audio using a boom microphone. We lit the scenes as needed in the bar.

This was the final project that my group created. My group mate wrote the rough draft of this script and then the group refined it. I then created a shot list for us and made a production schedule as well. We utilized the same method from The Scream on Sycamore Lane by grouping together similar shot types for efficiency. I created a schedule and call sheets for our actors as well.

During filming we did a great job sticking to schedule which helped the production to run really smoothly. One of the biggest challenges was getting enough people to play extras. However, we were all able to call in a couple of friends to get the job done. For this project, my group got a chance to use the orbital dolly which was a lot of fun to get the shot of Ronan walking outside on the phone. One of the most fun moments was when our sound recordist and I (I was the Director of Photography) sat in the back of the trunk recording in a car while our group mate drove us so we could film Ronan running from the wedding. While this project was challenging, it was a lot of fun to make and it came out really well.

Blueshell

This was filmed on a Panasonic AG-DVX200 camera. We used a boom microphone and set up lights around the apartment as well for the film. The film was then edited on Premiere Pro.

My group’s assignment was to create a dialogue heavy film that utilized a game of some sort. Our game of choice was Mario Kart. This film was such a blast to make because we got to take such a serious situation and turn it into a comedic one.

We started out by writing out a script which we kept refining until it was just right. We then took the script and created a shot list for filming. During filming our group struggled with getting the lighting to look nice on camera and we struggled to get rid of the reflections on the television. However, after a lot of trial and error we came up with a film that we were all extremely proud of.

Home Alone Scene Recreation

This was filmed on an iPhone. I edited this using Premiere Pro.

For this, I had to recreate a scene from a film to practice continuity editing in Premiere Pro. I love the film Home Alone, so I decided to go with the scene where Kevin is scaring the pizza delivery guy.

I had to start out by watching the clip a bunch of times to write out each of the shots that I would need. While filming I had to play the original movie clip while my actor said the lines to keep the timing right since I chose to use the audio from the movie. The hardest part of filming this was working with a set layout that is different from the film’s. With some strategic editing, I think that I got fairly close.
