My partner and I had to create the sound effects and voiceovers for this clip. We had to do this by writing out an outline for all of the sound effects in the clip and then deciding how we were going to make them. For the sound effects, we had to get quite creative- for example, the thunder was made by shaking a sheet of metal. For the voiceovers, we used Audition so that we could get the timing right.
The most difficult aspect of this project was definitely getting the timing right on everything. We had to watch everything over and over when we were editing or even recording to get everything right. However, I had so much fun working on this project, it definitely made me want to explore going into making sound for films.
My partner and I had to make a 1 minute radio commercial for a band that was coming to town. We got together and wrote out a script for what we wanted to say. We then recorded it on Audition. Recording it was not as easy as I had initially thought it would be because we had to get our timing just right on everything. Afterwards, we added in effects and transitions between each of the songs.
The hardest part for us was probably recording ourselves talk because we had to say specific lines at certain times. We also had to figure out a good transition in between songs. My partner came up with a static sound effect idea which I then found online. I think that the project turned out really well and I had a lot of fun creating this fake commercial.

My group had to create a podcast with a newsworthy guest. During this time period, my friend was a PA on the Sylvestor Stallone film that was filming in Oxford, OH. We came up with some questions to ask about her experience on the set and then we got to editing the podcast.
I thought that this podcast came out really well. I did the editing on it for my group and the most challenging part was editing out the “umms” and editing out the plosives people had when talking.
Editing Music
This was edited on a Adobe Audition.
My professor had one of the faculty members come in so that we could record him playing a song on the guitar. This was meant to give us a feeling as to how to edit music. We recorded this audio on a Rode, Sure, and high ball microphones to help us hear the difference in quality between the microphones as well.
I edited this by amplifying the sound, adding a parametric equalizer as well as a single-band compressor charmer. I also played around with some of the different reverb effects and genral effects in Audition to finish off my project.
