Tiny Town

This was created in Cinema 4D.

This project required that I make a 3D environment. I love the show Gilmore Girls, so I decided to make a small town like Stars Hollow.

The most challenging parts of this assignment was getting the lighting right and it was difficult to decide what was most important to keep in the town due to rendering time. This project took over 24 hours to render, so I had to sacrifice a few aspects of it such as a few buildings and trees in order to help decrease the render time. I think that this project turned out really well since this was my first semester ever working with 3D.

Detective Grace Title Sequence

This was created with After Effects and the chalk body was created in Cinema 4D.

For this project I decided to create a title sequence which allowed me to learn more about some of the effects and graphics in After Effects as well as some of the 3D aspects that After Effects has as well.

For this title sequence I had to create a script and shot list. I was able to stick to most of the shot list that I wrote out since I was not sure which effects I could and could not pull off. This project allowed me to dip my toes into Cinema 4D and I got to learn how the camera works in After Effects. Overall, I think that this turned into a captivating sequence.

Tunnel

This was made using Cinema 4D.

For this project I had to create a looping animation. This was my first time using Cinema 4D, so I followed a tutorial to create a never ending tunnel.

It was challenging to follow a tutorial for a software that I had never used before, but I think that it came out well. I had to make sure to angle the camera so that the viewer could never see the end of the tunnel to give the tunnel the endless effect, but after following the tutorial slowly I created my first Cinema 4D animation that I was quite proud of.

Personal Logo

This was created in After Effects.

For this project I decided to create a looping animation based on my personal logo.

I decided to remodel my logo for this, so I added the white circles. I also changed up the animation from the last time that I animated this adding spinning wheels. I thought that adding the retro film look to this made it a unique loop as well.

Bubble

This was created in After Effects.

For this project I had to animate some sort of special effect. I decided to go with a bubble since it reminded me Glinda’s bubble in Wicked.

This was a difficult project to do because I had to make sure that the bubble stayed in my hand the whole time, had to give it that transparent/reflective look, and I had to make it move like a bubble. I was able to take a bubble png off of Google and I could change it’s position, rotation, and scale. I was able to utilize some of the After Effects effects to make the bubble reflect what was around it and give it that bounce that bubbles have as well.
